Daniel David Robichaud

Daniel David Robichaud, 86, of 64 Cloverdale St. died Thursday at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Pittsfield on April 13, 1920, son of Daniel M. and Ellen Blaney Robichaud, he was a 1938 graduate of Pittsfield High School.

A World War II veteran, he served in the Air Force from Sept. 24, 1942, to Oct. 20, 1945, and was stationed in India and Burma.

Mr. Robichaud was employed as an industrial truck repairman with General Electric Co. for 44 1/2 years, retiring in 1983.

He was a communicant of St. Mark's Church and a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs and the Ralph Froio Senior Center, and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 448.

He enjoyed bowling, fishing and square dancing.

He and his wife, the former Bertha A. Lefebrve, were married Aug. 30, 1941.

Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Pamela M. Robichaud of Fort Ann, N.Y., and Su Ellen Prechtl of San Antonio; three sons, Charles Robichaud of Stephentown, N.Y., Gerald Robichaud of Lanesborough and Daniel Robichaud of Pittsfield; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Daniel David Robichaud, who died Thursday, June 8, 2006, will be conducted Saturday, June 10, at 11 at DERY FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. John C. Salatino, pastor of St. Mark's Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Bridget's Cemetery in Housatonic.

There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Robichaud may be made to National Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or to National Multiple Sclerosis Society, both in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.

Mr. Robichaud leaves three grandchildren, John Catalano, Jason Robichaud and Jaclyn Robichaud, and two great-grandchildren, Mikayla and Kyleigh Catalano. He was predeceased by a sister, Claire Lash.
