Marian J. Morin, 77, of Crescent City Park died yesterday at home after a brief illness.
Born in Ticonderoga, N.Y., on Aug. 19, 1928, daughter of the late Charles and Catherine Gregory Stimpson, Mrs. Morin and her family lived in Pittsfield for many years before moving to Halfmoon more than 30 years ago.
Mrs. Morin was employed by the New York State Park Police in Saratoga for some years before retiring. Previously, she was a waitress for many years at the Sugarbowl and the Breezy Knoll Inn, both in the Pittsfield area.
She was a member of the Mechanicville-Stillwater Elks Lodge Ladies Auxiliary, and American Legion Auxiliary of Mechanicville.
She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, sewing and ceramics.
She leaves her husband of 58 years, Richard A. Morin; two daughters, Catherine Farrell of Pittsfield and Nancy Downey of Medical Lake, Wash.; a son, Richard Morin of Clifton Park; two sisters, Joyce Reed and Bethany Sacco, both of Pittsfield; a brother, Richard Burrows of Pittsfield; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A funeral service for Marian J. Morin, who died Wednesday, June 7, 2006, will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at DEVITO-SALVADORE FUNERAL HOME, 39 South Main St., Mechanicville, with burial in the Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
Calling hours at the funeral home are on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
She leaves two sons-in-law, Mike and Kevin, and a daughter-in-law, Mary, and several nieces and nephews.
