Irving M. "Whitey" LeBlanc, 89, of 234 Harryel St. died Tuesday at his home.
Born in Pittsfield on April 12, 1917, son of George and Maude Nichols LeBlanc, he was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mr. LeBlanc served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was employed as a welder and planner at General Electric Co. in ordnance manufacturing, retiring in 1980. He also drove for Pete's Motors for 20 years.
He was a communicant of Mount Carmel Church.
He was a member of the musicians union, playing the bass drum for many years, and was manager of the Pittsfield Eagles Band for many years, as well as a member of the Elks Club.
His wife, the former Marion G. Denno, whom he married Jan. 7, 1939, died Sept. 21, 2000. He leaves two daughters, Brenda Beliveau of Guilderland, N.Y., and Patricia L. Borden of Pittsfield; eight grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Irving LeBlanc, who died Tuesday, May 30, 2006, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mount Carmel Church, with Father Geoffrey Deeker, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME. He leaves his grandchildren, Robert Beliveau, Suzanne Goff, Renee Jahn, Debbie Renzi, Leanne Bishop, David Pravia, Joseph Pravia, and Cindy Blunk, and his great-grandchildren, Remo Beliveau, Jared, Matthew, and Michael Renzi, Brenna Jahn, Kian Goff, David, Danny, Matthew and Joseph Pravia, Amber Blunk, Alena Blunk and Michael Robinson.
Donations in his memory may be made to the American Lung Association care of the funeral home, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
