Anthony L. "Nino" Fazzina

Anthony L. "Nino" Fazzina, 78, of Blakeslee Street, Bristol, Conn., formerly of South Egremont, died Monday morning at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center, where he had been a patient for three days.

He was the father of Patricia J. Leydet of Lenox Dale.

Born in Bristol, Conn., on Oct. 23, 1927, son of Salvatore and Santa D'Urso Fazzina, he attended local schools, including Bristol High School.

Mr. Fazzina was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

He was employed for many years as an electronics engineer by Bicron Electronics in Canaan, Conn. He later worked for an electronics plant in Bristol for 10 years, retiring in 1993.

He and his wife, the former Madeline Erickson, were married in New Britain, Conn., on Nov. 26, 1955. Following their marriage, they lived in Bristol for several years before moving to South Egremont in 1966. They returned to Bristol in 1983.

He was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church of Bristol.

He enjoyed drawing and painting, antiques, woodworking, tennis, golf and bowling, and playing the accordion, trumpet and ukulele.

Besides his wife and his daughter, he leaves another daughter, Cynthia J. Fazzina of Odessa, Mo.; two brothers, Harry Fazzina of Philadelphia and George Fazzina of Middletown, Conn., and four grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial Mass for Mr. Anthony L. Fazzina, who died Monday, May 29, 2006, will be celebrated at St. Anthony's Church in Bristol, Conn., at a time to be announced in June. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Anthony's Church in care of ROCHE FUNERAL HOME, 120 Main Street, Lenox, MA 01240. Mr. Fazzina is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Christina and Sherry Kowalewski, and Jesse and Cody Leydet, and his loving son-in-law, John P. Leydet.

He was predeceased by five sisters, Rosie Ansaldo, Mary Savage, Annie Falsetti, Josephine Maro and Georgina Spitzel, and a brother, Joseph Fazzina.
