Lois C. Griffin, 82, of Berkshire Place, 89 South St., died there on Monday morning.
Born in Troy, N.Y. on March 9, 1924, daughter of James Patrick and Mary Halligan Carey, she was educated in the local schools and was a 1947 graduate of Draper High School in Schenectady.
She was employed as a real estate broker for 25 years with Ruffer Realtors.
A communicant of Sacred Heart Church, she was a member of its Rosary Sodality.
Mrs. Griffin had also been a troop leader with the Girl Scouts, and enjoyed watching golf.
Her husband, Richard C. Griffin Jr., whom she married June 2, 1951, died March 1, 2000.
She leaves three daughters, Janis Griffin-Thibault of West Springfield, Patricia Rapkowicz of Knoxville, Tenn., and Susan Rader of Waukesha, Wis.; a son, Richard Griffin of Pittsfield; a sister, Helen Blackburn of Wappingers Falls, N.Y., and eight grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, James Griffin, who died March 8, 2000.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Lois C. Griffin, who died May 29, 2006, will be on Thursday, June 1, at 11 a.m. at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME with Rev. James K. Joyce, pastor of Sacred Heart Church, officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations in her memory may be made to Berkshire Place Patient Activities Fund in care of the funeral home, 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield, Ma 01201.
She leaves her grandchildren, Christopher and Jacqueline Thibault, Kerrie and Kelly Griffin, Danielle and Allison Rapkowicz, and Nicholas and Lucas Rader.
