Reginald Allen Deane, 53, of 193 Mohegan St. died Wednesday morning at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Sharon, Conn. on May 23, 1952, son of the late Vernon and Evelyn Werner Deane, he attended schools in Massachusetts and earned his General Equivalency Diploma.
Mr. Deane had been employed by Stop & Shop Supermarket as meat department manager for 10 years. He retired in 1997 due to ill health.
He enjoyed woodworking, visiting casinos, bowling in local leagues, golfing and spending time with his family.
He leaves his wife, the former Shelley VanDeusen, whom he married on July 12, 1975.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Reginald Robinson of Salem, Ohio; a daughter, Julie Deane Harford of Hinsdale; 16 siblings; 13 grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Reginald Allen Deane, who died Wednesday, May 17, 2006, will be held Saturday, May 20, at 11 a.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. William D. Furey, pastor of Berkshire Union Chapel, officiating.
Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Deane may be made to the BMC Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
He leaves his daughter-in-law, Tami Harford Ellsworth; a niece, Kellie VanDeusen Muller; 13 grandchildren, Logan, Conner, Jonathan and Amber Harford, Devin Ellsworth, Jessica Ellsworth-Miner, Robyn Miner, Victoria, Christian R. and Flavia Muller, Daniele Fatherly, and Daemin and Dairian Robinson; a great-grandson, Joshua, and many other family and friends.
He was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Deane.
