Agnes Kowalsky

Agnes Kowalsky, 82, of Columbia Arms Apartments died Monday at Springside of Pittsfield, where she had resided since December 2005.

Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 1, 1924, daughter of George B. and Christine Forbes Noble, she was a 1941 graduate of Pittsfield High School and a 1944 graduate of the former Henry W. Bishop School of Nursing.

Mrs. Kowalsky was a registered nurse in New York City hospitals from 1951 to 1980.

She enjoyed knitting and doing crossword puzzles.

She and her husband, Peter Kowalsky, were married in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Nov. 21, 1953. He predeceased her on Feb. 3, 1985. They lived in Brooklyn for 25 years.

Mrs. Kowalsky leaves a daughter, Christine A. Kowalsky of New York City; a son, John S. Kowalsky ofPennsylvania, and two grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Agnes Noble Kowalsky, who died Monday, May 15, 2006, also leaves her son-in-law, Paul Bressler, and a daughter-in-law, Anne Kowalsky; two grandchildren, Carly and Erin Kowalsky; two nieces, Janice DiFilippo and Judith Volpi, and two nephews, Charles and Stephen Bassett.

She was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Noble Bassett. A graveside service for Mrs. Kowalsky will be held Saturday, May 20, at 11 a.m. at Memory Gardens in Colonie, N.Y.

There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Kowalsky may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
