Minard E. Fowler

Minard E. Fowler, 89, formerly of 379 East St. died Saturday at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility, where he had resided for the past two months.
Born in Canaan, N.Y., on July 27, 1916, son of Minard and Jennie Hollenbeck Fowler, he attended schools in New York state.
He resided in Lanesborough at one time, and in Pittsfield since 1969.
He was employed for many years by Canaan Lumber and Hardware. He worked in the maintenance department of the former Schaefer Eaton Division of Textron Inc. for 12 years, retiring in 1981.
He was a member of the Canaan Congregational Church, and was a hunter and fisherman.
He and his wife, the former Pauline Kilian, were married Aug. 28, 1969, in Lanesborough. She predeceased him in 1984.
He leaves three stepdaughters, Sharon Gordon of Flagler Beach, Fla., Kristine Kelsey of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Jeri Kelsey of Gloucester; two step-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Graveside services for Minard Fowler, who died Saturday, May 6, 2006, will be held Saturday, May 13, at 2 p.m. in the Canaan Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
DWYER FUNERAL HOME is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Elder Services Independent Care Fund care of the funeral home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA 01201, in his memory.
