Kenneth Peter Masoero

Kenneth Peter Masoero, 47, of 6 Lillybrook Road, died Tuesday at home after a six-year battle with cancer.
Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 3, 1958, son of Emilio H. Masoero and Elaine M. Archambault Boyd of North Eastham, he attended Pittsfield Schools and graduated from Taconic High School in 1976.
He graduated from Berkshire Community College in 1978 with an associate of science degree in engineering technology, and then graduated from Purdue University of Fort Wayne, Ind., in 1980 with a bachelor of science degree in engineering technology.
He worked at Beloit Lenox in Lenox Dale for six years and then in the ordnance department at General Electric Co. At the time of his death, he was employed by General Dynamics Defense Systems in Pittsfield, where he had worked for a combined 20 years and was employed as a senior H/W test design engineer.
On Aug. 8, 1987, at Mount Carmel Church in Pittsfield, he married the former Patricia A. Blasioli.
He was a communicant and eucharistic minister at Mount Carmel Church and a member of its Holy Name Society.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, computers and yard work, and was a jeep enthusiast.
In addition to his mother of North Eastham, his father of Pittsfield, and his wife, he leaves a son, Peter K. Masoero of Pittsfield; a daughter, Amanda L. Masoero of Pittsfield, and two brothers, David P. Boyd of Pittsfield and Robert E. Masoero of Harrisburg, Pa. He was predeceased by his stepmother, Isabelle K. Masoero and his stepfather, Glenn A. Boyd.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Kenneth Peter Masoero, who died Tuesday, May 2, 2006, will take place Saturday, May 6, 2006, at 8 a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at Mount Carmel Church, with the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker C.S.S., pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday, May 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. Members of the Mount Carmel Church Holy Name Society and Ladies Guild will meet at 5:30 p.m. for a vigil service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Peter and Amanda Masoero Educational Fund in care of the funeral home.
He also leaves a father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dominic K. and Rose C. Blasioli of Pittsfield, and a close family friend Lois Fitzroy of Pittsfield. He was predeceased by a stepmother, Isabelle K. Masoero, and a stepfather, Glenn A. Boyd. Ken inspired many through his positive actions.
