Kathleen A. "Kitty" Sinopoli

Kathleen A. "Kitty" Sinopoli, 81, of 49 Hollister St. died Thursday at home.

Born in Pittsfield on April 21, 1924, daughter of William and Irene Johnson O'Boyle, she attended Pittsfield Schools and graduated from St. Joseph's High School in 1942.

She was last employed for several years by the former Zayre's Department Store in Pittsfield, retiring in 1983. Previously she had worked for the Big N Department Store.

She was a communicant of St. Mark's Church where she served as a former eucharistic minister and instructor for the Right of Christian Initiation of Adults program at St. Joseph's Church.

She enjoyed reading, nature and her grandchildren.

She leaves her husband, Louis G. Sinopoli, whom she married on Aug. 23, 1943, at St. Teresa's Church in Pittsfield.

In addition to her husband, she leaves two sons, William L. Sinopoli of Pittsfield and Richard A. Sinopoli of Moorpark, Calif.; two daughters, Mary K. Reddington of Cheshire and Susan M. Rapkowicz of Pittsfield; 14 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by another son, Thomas A. Sinopoli, who died June 13, 1986.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Kathleen A. "Kitty" Sinopoli, who died on April 20, 2006, will take place Monday at 9 a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME followed by a graveside service at the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery at 10 a.m., with the Rev. John C. Salatino, pastor of St. Mark's Church, officiating.

There are no calling hours. Omission of flowers is requested but memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care in The Berkshires or the Visiting Nurse Association of the Berkshires in care of the funeral home, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, MA 01201. She leaves two sons-in-law, Charles Reddington and Timothy Rapkowicz; a daughter-in-law, Michelle Sinopoli.

She was predeceased by a brother, William O'Boyle, and two sisters, Dorothy Connors and Helen Burke. Kitty's main interest in life was her family; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her great happiness.
