Stella Mateuszyk Duda, 82, of 317 Highland Ave., died yesterday morning at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Adams on June 15, 1923, daughter of Frank and Stella Kondej Mateuszyk, she was a graduate of the former Adams High School.
A World War II veteran, Mrs. Duda served as a WAVE in the U.S. Navy from June 1, 1944, to Oct. 20, 1945, where she was a pharmacist mate 3rd Class.
Mrs. Duda had been employed as an assembler in the General Electric Co. for 17 years, retiring in 1978. Prior to the war, she worked at Sprague Electric.
She was a communicant of Holy Family Church.
She enjoyed gardening and plants.
She leaves her husband, Louis S. Duda, whom she married Nov. 11, 1946.
Mrs. Duda also leaves two daughters, Barbara Vest of Marion, Ark., and Francine Dykes of Atlanta, Ga.; a son, Robert L. Duda of Pittsburgh, and two grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Stella Mateuszyk Duda, who died Wednesday, April 19, 2006, will be held Saturday, April 22, at 8:15 a.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at Holy Family Church, celebrated by the Rev. Michael A. Shershanovich, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Duda may be made to Friends of Renal Dialysis in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
