Floyd A. Knight

Floyd A. Knight, 86, of Brown Street, Lenox Dale, died Saturday at Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Cherry Hill, N.J., after a long illness.
Born in Pittsfield on April 5, 1920, son of Edward C. and Jennie Bleau Knight, he was a 1939 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
He served in the Army during World War II and participated in the Normandy Invasion and the campaign into Central Europe under Gen. Omar Bradley.
He was awarded the Purple Heart.
Mr. Knight worked in quality control at General Electric Co. for 42 years, retiring in 1982.
He was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church.
He and his wife, the former Elizabeth Frances Brown, were married Oct. 5, 1946. She died in September 1981.
He leaves a daughter, Michele E. Knight of Cherry Hill; a son, Thomas J. Knight of Lenox Dale, and a sister, Doris Reidy of Pittsfield.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Floyd A. Knight, who died Saturday, April 15, 2006, will be Thursday at 9:15 from KELLY FUNERAL HOME in Lee, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Lenox Dale.
Burial will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery in Lenox. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 at the funeral home. Friends wishing may make donations in his memory to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.
Mr. Knight also leaves a daughter-in-law, Julia S. Knight.
