James F. "Harvey" Keenan

James F. "Harvey" Keenan, 59, died yesterday morning at his home on Lasher Lane in Lenox Dale.

Born in Pittsfield on March 28, 1947, son of Mary Sorrentino and the late Joseph Keenan, he was educated in Lee Schools and graduated from Lee High School in 1965.

He was employed by Sweitzer-Maduit for 39 years, retiring on March 14, 2006.

Mr. Keenan was a member of the Greenock Country Club. He enjoyed golfing, watching the New York Yankees, and biking. He biked and finished the Josh Billings RunAground when he was 50.

He and his wife, the former Barbara Bianco, would have celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary on April 18th.

Besides his wife, he leaves his mother, Mary Keenan, formerly of Lee, now residing at Hillcrest Commons in Pittsfield; two daughters, Melissa M. Keenan of Lee, and Pamela J. Keenan of Lenox; a son, Steven J. Keenan of Fredericksburg, Va.; a sister, Virginia N. Phelps of Pittsfield; a brother, Thomas E. Keenan of Lee, and two grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for James F. "Harvey" Keenan, who died April 12, 2006,will be on Good Friday at 9:15 a.m. from KELLY FUNERAL HOME in Lee, with a Liturgy of the Word celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul's Church in Lenox Dale at 10 a.m.

Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Lee. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends wishing may make donations in his memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.

Mr. Keenan enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandsons Joey and Anthony. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law Melanie, future son-in-law Daniel Rawson, close friend of the family, Mark Bernoi, and several nieces and nephews.
