Mary Jane Daly, 77, of 36 High St. died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center following a long illness.
Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 15, 1928, daughter of Archie and Jane Moran Herrick, she was a 1946 graduate of St. Joseph's Central High School.
She was a homemaker. Prior to her marriage, she was employed by General Electric Co. as a filing clerk.
She enjoyed reading, gardening, playing bingo, bowling with her C.R.A. league, traveling to Foxwood Resorts, and spending time with her family.
Her husband, William Edward Daly, whom she married July 30, 1949, died Sept. 26, 1991.
Mrs. Daly leaves three daughters, Kathleen P. Ochs of Nassau, N.Y., and Margaret A. Loehr and Eileen E. Latini, both of Pittsfield; three sons, Dennis E. Daly of Buffalo, N.Y., Thomas C. Daly of Pittsfield and Edward J. Daly of East Otis; 11 grandchildren, and a great granddaughter.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Mary Jane Daly, who died Wednesday, March 29, 2006, will be held Friday, March 31, at 9:15 a.m. from DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes' Church with the Rev. Christopher A. Malatesta, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery. Calling hours will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Daly may be made to Berkshire Visiting Nurse Association, Dalton Ambulance and Rescue, or The Kids Place in care of the funeral home, 890 East Main St., Dalton 01226.
Mrs. Daly also leaves her sons-in-law, Hal Ochs and William Loehr; her daughters-in-law, Rosemarie (Mrs. Thomas) Daly and Jennifer Bruce (Mrs. Dennis) Daly; her grandchildren, Scott Ochs, Eric and his wife, Jessica Ochs, Heather Ochs, Thomas and his wife, Jennifer Daly, Erin Daly, Mark Loehr, Timothy Loehr, Sara Daly, Andrew Latini, Shaunna Latini, and Patrick Latini; her great granddaughter, Autumn Marie Ochs; her brother-in-law, Peter Hagadorn, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Patricia Higgins Moynihan.
