Irving Rosenbaum

Irving Rosenbaum, 85, of 147 Ann Drive died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in New York City on Dec. 15, 1920, son of Nathan and Tillie Rosenhoch Rosenbaum, he graduated from James Monroe High School in 1937.
An Air Force veteran of World War II, he served as a staff sergeant with the 1330th base unit and participated in the Central Burma and India Burma campaigns.
Mr. Rosenbaum owned the former Irv's Auto Supply on East Street from 1952 until his retirement in 1981.
He was a member of Knesset Israel Synagogue and of the Jewish War Veterans. Following his retirement, he was a volunteer for SCORE, helping entrepreneurs for many years.
He enjoyed gardening and playing poker and was a New York Yankees fan.
He and his wife, the former Miriam Tauber, were married Oct. 6, 1946.
Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Susan Cohen of Cincinnati and Nancy Rosenbaum of Chicago; two sons, Dr. Stephen Rosenbaum of San Francisco and Robert Rosenbaum of Alford; a sister, Claire Konigsberg of New York City, and four grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Irving Rosenbaum, who died March 25, 2006, will be conducted tomorrow, March 28, at 1 at Knesset Israel Synagogue by Rabbi David Greenspoon, spiritual leader.
Burial will follow in Knesset Israel Cemetery. The family will receive friends during Shiva at the family home from tomorrow through Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. He also leaves his grandchildren, Rebecca and Elizabeth Cohen, and Whitney and Maggie Rosenbaum; his daughter-in-law, Vickie Rosenbaum; his son-in-law, Dr. Martin Cohen, and his beloved dog, Soxie.
He will be remembered for his sense of humor, quick wit and for being a "gentleman" in the truest sense of the word. He enjoyed feeding and whistling to the birds outside his home.
