Mary "Mary Chev" Chevalier, 80, of 23A Highview Drive died Friday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in North Walpole, N.H., on April 22, 1925, daughter of Waldo and Agnes Henry Sanborn, she attended schools in New Hampshire and Massachusetts and graduated from the former House of Mercy Nursing School.
A registered nurse for 50 years, Mrs. Chevalier worked at the former St. Luke's Hospital and at Berkshire Medical Center. She also worked in the Greenfield area.
She was a Red Sox fan and enjoyed bowling.
Her husban, John L. Chevalier Sr., died Dec. 9, 1973.
She leaves a daughter, Noreen Kirby of Pittsfield; a son, John Chevalier Jr. of Pittsfield; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mary "Mary Chev" Chevalier, who died March 24, 2006, will be conducted tomorrow at 7 p.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME, Pittsfield, by the Rev. Paul Bombardier, pastor of St. Mary's Church. Calling hours will be tomorrow at the funeral home from 4 to 7.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201. Mary Chev will be lovingly missed by her grandchldren, Amanda, Katie and Tom; her great-grandchildren, Brian, Andrew and Pailey; her daughter-in-law, Vicki Robare, and her son-in-law, Robert Kirby. She was predeceased by a grandson, Ryan C. Chevalier, on Nov. 16, 2004. She enjoyed going to casinos and spending time with her friends.
