Daniel Arthur Beaumier

Daniel Arthur Beaumier, 78, died Thursday at Craneville Place, where he had resided since 2001. He was a former resident of Springfield and Longmeadow.

Born in Springfield on Jan. 3, 1928, son of George and Caroline Savage Beaumier, he was a 1947 graduate of the High School of Commerce. He also graduated from Western New England College with a bachelor's degree in real estate and business.

He served in the Air Force during the Korean War.

Mr. Beaumier was a partner with his brother, Arthur Beaumier, in Beaumier Real Estate Co. for more than 30 years, retiring in 1986.

He was a member of Faith United Church of Springfield and a life member of the Elks Club of Springfield. He enjoyed gardening, traveling and working with electronics.

His wife, the former Mary Helen Battige, whom he married in 1950 in Hampden, died March 22, 1998.

He leaves two daughters, Susan M. Schneider of Becket and Cheryl E. Paro of Longmeadow; a son, Steven A. Beaumier of East Longmeadow, and four grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for Daniel Arthur Beaumier, who died Thursday, March 23, 2006, will be conducted Wednesday, March 29, at 11 at Faith United Church, 52 Summer Ave., Springfield, by the Rev. David W. Hughes, senior pastor. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Beaumier may be made to the Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) Foundation in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201. Mr. Beaumier leaves four grandchildren, Matthew and Allison Beaumier, John Schneider and Daniel Paro. He loved being with his grandchildren.
