Belle K. Silverstein

Belle K. Silverstein, 106, of 1000 North St., Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility, died there Monday.
Born in Syracuse, N.Y., on Feb. 13, 1900, daughter of Abraham and Bessie Cohen Kessell, she graduated from schools there. Mrs. Silverstein was employed for many years as a saleswoman at David's in the Binghamton, N.Y., area, retiring in the early 1960s.
She was a member of Temple Anshe Amunim, a past member of Temple Israel in Binghamton, a life member of Berkshire Hills Hadassah and active in the senior program at the Jewish Federation of the Berkshires.
Following her retirement, she took up bowling and golfing and scored a hole in one while in her 70s.
Her husband, Harry Silverstein, whom she married June 19, 1927, died May 12, 1982.
She leaves a daughter, Rhoda Kamenstein of Pittsfield; a grandson, and two great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A graveside service for Belle K. Silverstein, 106, will be conducted Wednesday at 1 in the Temple Israel section of Westlawn Cemetery in Johnson City, N.Y. The family will receive friends during Shiva on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at 5 Baver Drive, Pittsfield.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 1 at Temple Anshe Amunim in Pittsfield, with Rabbi Sam Seicol, spiritual leader, officiating. Donations in her memory may be made to Temple Anshe Amunim in care of DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield, MA 01201. She is also survived by her grandson, Daniel Kamenstein, and great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Matthew Kamenstein.
