Lois Eloise Ferris

Lois Eloise Ferris, 92, formerly of 6 Main St., the Curtis, died Monday afternoon at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center, where she had resided for the past three years.
Born in North Scriba, N.Y., on Jan. 23, 1914, daughter of Wilbur and Lena Woolson Coon, she attended local schools and was a 1932 graduate of Oswego High School.
Mrs. Ferris had made her home on the family farm in North Scriba and was employed as a nurse's aide for many years by various nursing homes in the North Scriba-Oswego area.
She had resided in Lenox since 1978.
She was a member of North Scriba Baptist Church, where she was choir director. She enjoyed walking and conducting Bible study classes at the former Edgecombe Nursing Home.
Her husband, Charles H. Ferris, whom she married Sept. 25, 1936, died June 2, 1960.
Mrs. Ferris leaves a daughter, Nanette L. Natoli, of Lenox; a son, Roland D. Ferris, of Castleton, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mrs. Lois Eloise Ferris, who died March 13, 2006, will take place Thursday, March 16, at 2 p.m. at ROCHE FUNERAL HOME in Lenox, with the Rev. Glenn VanOort, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in the spring in North Scriba Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HospiceCare of the Berkshires in care of the funeral home, 120 Main St., Lenox, MA 01240. Mrs. Ferris also leaves her loving grandchildren, Mickey Natoli, Mary Hocking, Lois Ostrander, Laurie Quinn, Jamie Zocchi, and Cristi and Valerie Glasheen. The family sincerely thanks the staff of the Sedgwick Unit at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center for their years of tender loving care given to Mrs. Ferris.
