Estelle F. Konecko Kennedy

Estelle F. Konecko Kennedy, 83, formerly of Sunset Avenue, died Friday evening at Harbor Lights Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Boston, where she had resided for the past two years.

Born in Brookfield, Conn., on July 31, 1922, daughter of Adam and Bertha Adamowicz Konecko, she attended schools in Connecticut and was a 1939 graduate of Danbury High School. She later attended secretarial school in Danbury.

A resident of Lenox since 1968, she was employed by Berkshire Life Insurance Co. in Pittsfield for many years as an administrative assistant in the treasurer's department, retiring March 29, 1991. While in Connecticut, she was employed as an executive secretary for the Sperry Corp. in Danbury.

Mrs. Kennedy was a communicant of St. Ann's Church. She enjoyed cross country skiing, playing golf and traveling.

She was the wife of James M. Kennedy, whom she married Nov. 15, 1958. He died on Aug. 29, 1977.

She leaves one daughter, Dianne Prada of Boston; two sons, Cordell W. Shaw of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and Robert W. Shaw of New Hartford, Conn.; one sister, Mary Zurinskas of Port Orange, Fla.; four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Calling hours for Estelle F. Konecko Kennedy, who died Friday, March 10, 2006, will be Monday, March 13, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at ROCHE FUNERAL HOME in Lenox. The funeral will be Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Christopher J. Waitekus, pastor, of St. Ann's church, officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Ann's cemetery. Flowers are welcome. Mrs. Kennedy also leaves her beloved grandchildren Stephanie Carey of Hoboken, N.J., Jess H. Shaw of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Brittany T. Shaw of New Hartford, Conn., and Albert Prada of Boston, and her great-grandchild Mason Carey of Hoboken.
