Edna M. Trzcinka

Edna M. Trzcinka, 72, of 126 Elizabeth St., died on Tuesday at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Albany, N.Y., on April 25, 1933, daughter of Joseph and Pauline Zalrzewski Zuraski, she attended schools there, and was a 1951 graduate of Cohoes (N.Y.) High School.

Primarily a homemaker, she worked as a bookkeeper at the former First National Supermarket and in the meat department at Stop & Shop.

She was a communicant of St. Teresa's Church.

She enjoyed bingo, dancing the polka, ceramics, crocheting, knitting, and cooking polish food. She also was an avid bowler, winning many trophies at Candle Lanes.

She and her husband, Bernard S. Trzcinka, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 8, 2005. They were married in Cohoes, N.Y.

Besides her husband, she leaves four sons, John A. Trzcinka of Kissimmee, Fla., Bernard S. Trzcinka Jr. of Pittsfield, Michael J. Trzcinka of Fort Worth, Texas, and Robert F. Trzcinka of Pittsfield, and a grandson.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Edna M. Trzcinka, who died Tuesday, March 7, 2006, will be on Saturday, March 11, at 8:15 a.m. from DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Teresa's Church, celebrated by the Rev. Michael Shershanovich, pastor of St. Joseph's Church.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Friday from 4 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. If friends desire, donations in her memory may be made to St. Teresa's Church in care of the funeral home, 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield, MA 01201. She also leaves her daughter-in-law, Cheryl Trzcinka, who she considered a daughter. Her loving care for our Mom will always be deeply appreciated. She also leaves her loving grandson, Robert F. Trzcinka Jr., whom she loved very dearly.
