Edward A. "Ted" Hubbard

Edward A. "Ted" Hubbard, 70, of 15 Kensington Ave. died Tuesday morning at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Pittsfield on Dec. 26, 1935, son of Edward R. and Gladys Brown Hubbard, he was educated in Pittsfield schools.

He was a Korean War veteran who served in the Army and in the National Guard.

Mr. Hubbard had been employed as a supervisor by the Eaton Paper Company for 37 years. He retired in 1988.

He was a communicant of All Souls Church. He was a longtime blood donor for the American Red Cross and was also an American Red Cross CPR instructor at Eaton Paper Company. He was an enthusiastic coin and stamp collector, a longtime Red Sox and New England Patriots fan, and was a fan of John Wayne.

Mr. Hubbard leaves his wife, the former Marjorie Dunn of Pittsfield, whom he married Feb. 14, 1976.

Besides his wife, he leaves three daughters, Jo-Ann M. Hassan and Sandra G. Chaney, both of Lanesborough, and Tina M. Massaro of the town of Washington; two stepsons, Brian J. McGuigan of Pittsfield and J. Michael McGuigan of Margate, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Melinda J. Boos and Mary E. Casella, both of Pittsfield; a brother, David Hubbard of Pittsfield; four sisters, Judy Yon, Gloria Knappe, Donna Belanger and Marjorie Lannon, all of Pittsfield, and eighteen grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Edward A. "Ted" Hubbard, who died Tuesday, March 7, 2006, will be held Friday, March 10, at 9:15 a.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at All Souls Church, celebrated by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, C. S. S., pastor. Following cremation, a private graveside service will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Calling hours will be Thursday, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Dery Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Hubbard may be made to Berkshire Medical Center Renal Dialysis Unit in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield. Mr. Hubbard leaves eighteen grandchildren, Donna A. Chaney, Ryan E. Chaney, Trisha M. Uhlman, Alisha L. Hassan, Marisa L. Massaro, Jaryd M. Massaro, Alexandra R. Massaro, Kylie K. Boos, Kacey K. Boos, Kortney M. Boos, Guy P. Boos, Jr., Megan S. Arrant, Morgan R. Arrant, Aubrey L. Cassella, Shelbey K. Cassella, Jeffrey A. McGuigan, Jennifer N. McGuigan and Christian Kuryla. He was predeceased by two sisters, Barbara Daley and Pat Vickery, and a brother, Albert Hubbard.
