Edward J. Tobin, 57, of Memorial Drive, Chicopee, formerly of Lenox, died Saturday at home.
Born in Pittsfield on Oct. 28, 1948, son of Edward P. and Margaret Bond Tobin, he attended Lenox schools and was a 1967 graduate of Lenox High School.
He was a member of the Army National Guard for several years.
Mr. Tobin had worked for the past 10 years in the produce department at Stop & Shop in Chicopee. Before that, he worked for 18 years at the former Valley Graphics in Holyoke. During the late 1960s and early 1970s, he was employed by the Lenox Highway Department.
He enjoyed woodworking and remodeling his home.
He leaves a brother, Robert L. Tobin of Pittsfield.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mr. Edward J. Tobin, who died March 4, 2006, will be conducted Friday, March 10, at 10 at ROCHE FUNERAL HOME in Lenox by the Rev. Christopher J. Waitekus, pastor of St. Ann's in Lenox. Burial will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 5 to 7. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either Shriners' Hospital or HospiceCare in the Berkshires, in care of the funeral home, 120 Main St., Lenox, MA 01240. Mr. Tobin also leaves his nephews, Eric R. and Brian J. Tobin, both of San Diego.
