Sally Joan Mayhew, 74, of State College, Pa., died Wednesday at the Mount Nittany Medical Center, in State College, Pa.
Born in Pittsfield on April 26, 1931, to the late Wilford and Mary L. Ryder Langlois, she was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
She was a member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in State College, Pa.
Primarily a homemaker, she was a member of the Red Hats Society, Huntingdon (Pa.) Chapter, and she enjoyed bowling.
She married her husband, Edmund E. Mayhew, on Aug. 15, 1951.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Gary S. Mayhew of Bellefonte, Pa.; a daughter, Debra J. Gray of Stormstown, Pa.; a brother, Neal Langlois of Pittsfield; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A visitation for Sally Joan Mayhew, who died Feb. 22, 2006, will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 27, at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 867 Gray's Wood Blvd., State College, Pa. The funeral mass will follow at the church at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Phillip Bender officiating.
Burial will be at the Centre County Memorial Park. She also leaves a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Mayhew; a son-in-law, Jack Gray; four grandchildren, Nicole Peterman, Stephanie Gray, Amy Hockenberry and Jarrod Mayhew, and five great grandchildren, Lauren and J.T. Peterman and Emerson, Sloane and Paige Hockenberry.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Jackie, Leo and Richard, and by a sister, Patricia Driscoll.
