Mary C. Kearns, 81, a longtime resident of Sibley Street, died on Tuesday at Craneville Place in Dalton.
Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 22, 1924, daughter of Orestio and Isola Rocetai Ricciarini, she attended local schools and was a 1942 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Known as the voice of City Savings, she was employed for 22 years as a telephone operator by the former City Savings Bank. She retired in the early 1980s.
A former communicant of Mount Carmel Church, she enjoyed singing, opera and drawing.
She and her husband, the late William P. Kearns, were married in 1971. He died in 1986.
She leaves several nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mary C. Kearns, who died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006, will be on today at 1 p.m. at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor of St. Charles Church, officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations in her memory may be made to the Brien Center in care of the funeral home.
She was predeceased by a brother, Rinaldo Ricciarini, and a sister, Alice Robbins.
