Michael C. Kuzara

Michael C. Kuzara, 92, formerly of 147 Dalton Ave., died Monday afternoon at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center in Lenox.
He resided at Kimball Farms, 235 Walker St., for the past two and a half years.
Born in Housatonic on Jan. 3, 1914, he was the son of John and Anna Lobudek Kuzara.
He was a resident of Pittsfield most of his life and attended local schools.
Mr. Kuzara was employed as a letter carrier for the Pittsfield Post Office. He retired in 1978 after 32 years of service. He also worked for Flynn Volkswagen for 20 years.
He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II. A prisoner of war, his plane was shot down over Vienna. Sgt. Kuzara was awarded the Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters.
He was a member of the Berkshire Hills Country Club, the American Legion Pittsfield Post 68 and the Exchange Club.
He was also a communicant of Holy Family Church.
He leaves his wife, the former Zenobia Biedrzycki, whom he married May 31, 1941, in Holy Family Church; a son, Robert M. Kuzara of Lynnfield; two brothers, John Zuber and Peter Zuber, both of Pittsfield; and a grandson.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Michael C. Kuzara died Monday, Feb. 20. Beloved grandfather to Michael R. Kuzara and loving father-in-law to Linda. Funeral services will be tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 23, at 10 a.m. from DWYER FUNERAL HOME, 776 North St., Pittsfield, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Church celebrated by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor of St. Charles Church, officiating.
Burial with full military honors will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be at the funeral home today, Wednesday, Feb. 22, from 4 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HospiceCare In the Berkshires or to Disabled American Veterans in care of the funeral home in his memory.
