Joan J. Boutin

Joan J. Boutin, 75, formerly of Melbourne Place, died Monday afternoon at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility.
She had been a patient there since December. For the past 10 years, she resided in Vero Beach and Stewart, Fla.
Born in Pittsfield, Sept. 26, 1930, a daughter of Edwin and Kathleen Delaney Jandro, she was a 1948 graduate of St. Joseph's Central High School.
Mrs. Boutin worked for New England Telephone Company, beginning as a telephone operator and later in the business office in Pittsfield. From there, she was promoted to instructor in the Springfield business office. Lastly, she was manager in the Franklin Street office in Boston, where she was instrumental in developing the 911 program. She retired in 1987 with 43 years of service.
She was a communicant of St. Mark's Church and a member of the Telephone Pioneers.
She was a member of the American Legion in Dalton and was active in the Polish Club in Vero Beach.
On July 27, 1986, she married Roger T. Boutin. He died May 21, 2003.
Mrs. Boutin leaves a stepson, Stephen Boutin of Springfield; a stepdaughter, Barbara Lemire of Westfield; a brother, George R. Jandro of Pittsfield, and a sister, Rosemary A. Conant of Pittsfield.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Joan J. Boutin, who died Monday, Feb. 20, will be held Thursday, Feb. 23, at 9:15 a.m., from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mark Church celebrated by Rev. John C. Salatino, pastor.
Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Dalton. Calling hours will be held today from 5 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Boutin may be made to the Pittsfield Boys' and Girls' Club in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
Mrs. Boutin is also survived by her brother-in-law, Walter F. Conant; her sister-in-law, Blanche S. Jandro; and several nieces and nephews.
