Cynthia J. Gauthier, 69, of 72 Kearney Ave., died Tuesday at her daughter's home at 276 Mountain Drive.
Born in Hanover, N.H., on March 22, 1936, daughter of Lucien and Medora Duplessis Couture, she was a 1954 graduate of Hartford High School in White River Junction, Vt.
She was a graduate of a hairdressing school in Boston and was employed at one time at the former Mayfair Beauty Salon. She later was employed in the laundry department at Berkshire Medical Center, where she worked for 13 years until retiring in 1999.
She was a resident of Pittsfield for most of her life.
She was the widow of J. George Gauthier, who died Feb. 21, 1984. They were married on Feb. 5, 1956.
She was a communicant of St. Charles' Church, where she volunteered at various functions.
She enjoyed golfing, loved to travel and to spend time with her family and friends.
She leaves a daughter, Karen Adamo of Pittsfield; three sons, Kenneth Gauthier of Albuquerque, Timothy Gauthier of Fountain Hills, Ariz., and Thomas Gauthier of Cedar Park, Texas, and six grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Cynthia J. Gauthier, who died Feb. 14, 2006, will be tomorrow at 9 a.m. from DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Charles Church concelebrated by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor, and the Rev. James K. Joyce, pastor of Sacred Heart Church.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be at the funeral home today from 4 to 7 p.m. If friend desire, donations in her memory may be made to St. Charles Church or to HospiceCare in the Berkshires care of the funeral home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
Beloved mother-in-law to Reny Vigil, Kathleen, Kris and Dr. Phillip Adamo. Loving grandmother to Meghan, Elise and Matthew Adamo and Carson, Logan and Jordan Gauthier.
