Louise Frances Farrugo

Louise Frances Farrugo, 69, a resident of Hillcrest Commons for the past 18 months and a former resident of Central Annex, 99 Second St., died Monday afternoon at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 5, 1936, daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth Barile Brown, she was a 1954 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mrs. Farrugo had been employed as a residential counselor for the state Department of Mental Retardation for seven years before retiring in 1995. Prior to her marriage, she worked at New England Telephone Co. and, while raising her children, she worked part-time in the public schools and in local retail stores.
She was a communicant of Mount Carmel Church and enjoyed crafts, painting and cooking. She especially enjoyed attending concerts and shows starring Robert Goulet.
Her former husband, Samuel J. Farrugo, whom she married in 1959, died in 1996.
She leaves two daughters, Ann-Marie Kibbe of Pittsfield and Diane E. Demary of Oklahoma City; a sister, Judith Hall of Pittsfield, and four grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Louise Frances Farrugo, who died Monday, Feb. 13, 2006, will be held Friday, Feb. 17, at 1:15 p.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. Paul Burns, C.S.S., officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Ad-Lib, or the American Lung Association in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
She leaves two sons-in-law, Craig Kibbe and Raymond Demary, and four grandchildren, Nicole and Hannah Kibbe and Jamie and Jessica Demary. She was predeceased by a sister, Rosemary Dowd, who died in April 1997.
