Amelia A. "Amy" Christopher, 88, of Berkshire Place died there Saturday.
She was a former longtime resident of Springfield.
Born in Forino, province of Avellino, Italy, on May 15, 1917, daughter of Ilario and Lena Bene-Casa Circosta, she immigrated to the United States in 1920 and attended Springfield schools.
She was a 50-year communicant of Holy Cross Church in Springfield.
Her husband, Michael A. Christopher, died in May 2005. They were married 66 years.
She leaves two sons, Michael A. Christopher of Pittsfield and David Christopher of Monsey, N.Y.; a daughter, Judith Garrett of Pittsfield; a brother, Albert Circosta of East Longmeadow; a sister, Mary Basile of Springfield; seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Amelia A. "Amy" Christopher will be Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 10 from FORASTIERE-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at Holy Cross Church, 221 Plumtree Road, and Rites of Committal to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 421 Tinkham Road, both in Springfield.
Amelia's family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 4 to 7 in the Westwood Room. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Amelia's memory to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, 369 South St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
She was predeceased by her dearly loved twin, Florence "Flora" Tiboni. She also leaves two daughters-in-law, Elaine of Pittsfield and Arlene of Monsey, N.Y., and several nieces and nephews.
