Pearl Andrews

Pearl Andrews, 101, of 89 South St., a former longtime resident of 87 Calumet St., died Thursday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Glenville, Conn., on Oct. 28, 1904, daughter of Giuseppe and Maria Andreotta, she moved to Pittsfield in 1910 and was a 1922 pro merito graduate of the former Commercial High School.
She studied piano and organ with Francis McSweeney at Berkshire Music School and attended the Institute of Musical Art in New York City.
Miss Andrews was employed by General Electric Co. from 1926 to 1963, retiring as private secretary to the general manager of the transformer and allied products division.
She was a communicant of St. Charles' Church, where she served as organist for many years, and a member of its Rosary Society and an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary.
She was also a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs and the Women's Club.
She leaves several nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Miss Pearl Andrews died in Pittsfield on Thursday, Feb. 9. The funeral will be Tuesday, Feb. 14, at 10 from DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Charles' Church celebrated by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday, Feb. 13, from 5 to 7. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Charles' Church in care of the funeral home.
Pearl was predeceased by three sisters, Mrs. Cora Magnone, Mrs. Mary Curley and Mrs. Josephine Broyles.
