Ernestine "Nina" Allessio

Ernestine "Nina" Allessio, 87, of 676 Dalton Division Road died Friday at Hillcrest Commons, where she had resided for 3 1/2 years.

Born in Pittsfield on July 14, 1918, daughter of Peter and Ursula Migano Barosso, she attended schools in Pittsfield.

Mrs. Allessio worked at the former Glix Brand Pajama Factory and at the former Boston Auto Gage.

She was a communicant of All Souls' Church and enjoyed baking, crocheting, knitting and gardening.

Her husband, Eugene M. Allessio, whom she married Feb. 15, 1941, at Mount Carmel Church, died April 14, 1995.

She leaves a son, Francis E. Allessio of Pittsfield, and a sister Santina Janas of Pittsfield.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Ernestine "Nina" Barosso Allessio, who died Feb. 10, 2006, will be conducted Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006, at 11 at DERY FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Paul Burns, CSS, visiting priest at Mount Carmel Church.

Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 5 to 7. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to All Souls' Church, in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.

Mrs. Allessio also leaves her beloved daughter-in-law, Judy Slater Allessio.

She was predeceased by four brothers, Charles, John, Louis and Morris Barosso, and by four sisters, Julia Navone, Mary Keegan, Delina Biagini and Josephine Vacchina.
