Ann Terese Kirchner

Ann Terese Kirchner, 63, of 529 Kirchner Road, a long-time resident of Dalton, died Tuesday at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 21, 1943, daughter of Norman J. and Grace Burgner Kirchner, she was educated in Dalton schools as a child before her parents, along with other parents of disabled children, formed the Berkshire County Association for Retarded Citizens.

She spent most of her life on Kirchner Farm, and had at one time resided in Lanesborough and in Montana for awhile.

She worked at Berkshire Unlimited for many years.

Miss Kirchner was a long-time communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Pittsfield.

She had been a member of the Berkshire County Association for Retarded Citizens family since its inception. She enjoyed her cats, as well as television game shows.

She also enjoyed attending the Kirchner family reunions.

She leaves a sister, Mary Lamke of Dalton.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Miss Ann Terese Kirchner, who died Tuesday, Feb. 7, will be held Friday, Feb. 10, at 8 a.m. from DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church in Pittsfield, at 9 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. James K. Joyce, pastor. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Dalton.

Calling hours will be held today from 4 to 7 p.m. at DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, HospiceCare in the Berkshires, or to Berkshire County Association for Retarded Citizens (BCARC) in care of the funeral home, 890 East Main St., Dalton.

Miss Kirchner also leaves her brother-in-law, Bruce Lamke; her two nieces, Kelly Kiss and her husband, Andrew, of Easthampton, Lori Dooley and her husband, Wesley, of Belgrade, Mont.; two nephews, Christopher Smith of Pittsfield, and Randy Smith and his wife, Beth, of Pittsfield; eight grandnieces and nephews, Tina Steele and her husband, Robert, Ashley, Amber, Jimmy, Wesley, Zac, Alex, Janelle, Cassandra; her great-grandniece, Serena; her aunt, Sister Mary Kirchner of the Sisters of Providence in Holyoke, and many cousins of the Kirchner-Burgner Family, as well her BCARC family who loved and cared for her.

Miss Kirchner was deeply committed to her religion and her faith.
