Gladys Campoli, 82, formerly of 100 Commonwealth Ave., died Friday evening at Williamstown Commons in Williamstown, where she had resided since 2004.
Born in North Adams on Dec. 7, 1923, daughter of Joseph and Anna Lemoine Peloquin, she was a 1942 graduate of Drury High School. She received her nursing degree from Russell Sage College in 1944 and her bachelor of science degree in nursing from the University of Vermont in 1946.
She taught student nurses at the former Pittsfield General Hospital from 1947 to 1953.
Mrs. Campoli was a communicant of the former Notre Dame Church in Pittsfield and active in the Pi Beta Phi Sorority Alumni Association.
She was a member of the League of Women Voters and the Country Club of Pittsfield.
She was an accomplished biker and skier and enjoyed golf and tennis.
She leaves her former husband, Andrew T. Campoli of Pittsfield; two sons, Thomas L. Campoli of Pittsfield and J. Peri Campoli of Dalton; three daughters, Lisa Campoli of Cambridge, Julie Campoli of Burlington, Vt., and Gina Campoli of Craftsbury Commons, Vt.; two sisters, Loretta Boyer of North Adams and Denise Coenen of Salisbury, Conn., and 17 grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Gladys P. Campoli, 82, of Pittsfield, who died Feb. 3, 2006, will be Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 9 from DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Cheshire celebrated by the Rev. David Raymond, pastor.
Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery in North Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held tomorrow, Feb. 7, from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Mrs. Campoli may be made to Alzheimer's and Related Disorders, in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
