Ruth L. Northrup

Ruth L. Northrup, 62, of 28 Hubbard Ave. died Wednesday morning at home.

Born in Pittsfield on July 13, 1943, daughter of William and Helen McGurk Stanger, she was a 1961 graduate of St. Joseph's High School.

She was a resident of Dalton for the past 28 years.

Mrs. Northrup was employed as a receptionist by Coca Cola Co. in Pittsfield for 15 years.

She enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Warrior League at Ken's Bowl for 38 years.

She also enjoyed reading, camping and collecting teddy bears.

She was a communicant of St. Agnes' Church for the past 28 years.

She and her husband, Roger Northrup, were married Sept. 5, 1964, in St. Charles' Church in Pittsfield.

Besides her husband of Dalton, she leaves a son, Michael Northrup of Las Vegas, Nev.; three daughters, Deborah Murphy of South Hadley, Christine Buck of Dalton and Kathleen Dion of Pittsfield; a sister, Ann Stanger Juda of Manlius, N.Y.; two brothers, Robert Stanger of Enfield, Conn., and T. Russell Stanger of Dalton, and six grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Ruth L. Northrup, who died on Feb. 1, 2006, will be tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006, at 9 a.m. from DWYER FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Agnes' Church, Dalton, with the Rev. Christopher Malatesta, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery, Dalton. Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield. If friends desire, donations in her memory may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home.

She enjoyed spending time with her family. Loving grandmother to Brian and Scott DeLafayette, Samantha Murphy, Eric and Kaylee Buck and Jason Dion Jr. Beloved mother-in-law to Dale Buck, Jason Dion Sr., and Amanda Lazarus, and sister-in-law to Frank Juda, Joy Stanger and Marie Stanger.

She is survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, and her longtime friend, Isabelle Brogan.
