Idele R. Huff

Idele R. Huff, 95, of 329 Pittsfield Road, Devonshire Estates, died Wednesday at Providence Care Center after a long illness.
Born in Araduck, Russia, on Oct. 5, 1910, daughter of Berel and Sora Kerepchanovitz Karlitsky, she came to the United States when she was 2 years old and settled in Chicago.
She attended schools there and was a graduate of Sabin High School.
She married Albert Huff in 1935 and moved to Evanston, Ill., to raise her family. Her husband died in 1990.
Mrs. Huff was employed as a bookkeeper by Hibbard, Spencer, and Bartlett in Evanston. After she retired, she moved to Delray Beach, Fla., where she lived until moving to Lenox in 1998.
A member of Temple Anshei Shalom in Delray Beach, she sang in the choir, was an active member of its Sisterhood and was a member of the Sisterhood of Temple Emeth.
As a singer, she performed in several shows in Delray Beach. She was also a life member of the City of Hope.
She leaves two daughters, Sherri James Buxton of Lee and Marlene White of Forestdale; a sister, Annette Chase of Chicago; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A graveside funeral service for Idele R. Huff, who died Feb. 1, 2006, will be on Friday, Feb. 3, at 2:15 p.m. at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens in Delray Beach, Fla. A memorial service will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at Knesset Israel Synagogue, 16 Colt Road, Pittsfield, with Rabbi David Greenspoon, spiritual leader, officiating.
The family will receive friends during Shiva at the family home, 200 Highfield Drive, Lee, on Sunday from 3 until 6 p.m. and Monday from 4 until 7:45 p.m. Donations in her memory may be made to HospiceCare in The Berkshires or the American Cancer Society in care of DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME. Idele's greatest pride and joy was her family.
She was mother to Marlene and Sherri, grandmother to Ashley and Jen Buxton, Leesa Themistocles, and Marc Fleischman, and great-grandmother to Olivia and Emily Themistocles and Trevor Fleischman. She was extremely fond of her sons-in-law, David Buxton and Lawrence White, and the spouses of her grandchildren, Peter Themistocles and Ellen Fleischman. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
