Leonore Elizabeth McDermott

Leonore Elizabeth McDermott, 81, of Colonial Gardens, a former longtime resident of Broadway, died yesterday morning at her home.
Born in Pittsfield, Aug. 28, 1924, a daughter of Arthur C. and Henrietta LeClair Campbell, she was a graduate of Pittsfield schools.
Mrs. McDermott was employed as an assembler with Greylock Plastics for eight years, retiring in 1986. Prior to that, she had been a cook for the Pittsfield Public Schools from 1959 to 1974.
She was a member of the Pittsfield Senior Center and a former member of Pilgrim Memorial Church.
Mrs. McDermott spent many hours at Pontoosuc Lake, where she enjoyed swimming, fishing and boating.
She also enjoyed driving. Her greatest love was spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Her husband, Thomas H. McDermott, whom she married Nov. 26, 1949, in Richmond, died Oct. 24, l997.
Mrs. McDermott leaves four daughters, Carol McDermott, Karen Tucker and Sharon Bentz, all of Pittsfield, and Linda M. Richards of Tucson,Ariz.; nine grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A graveside service for Leonore Elizabeth Campbell McDermott, who died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006, will be held Friday, Jan. 27, at 11 a.m., at Pittsfield Cemetery with the Rev. William D. Furey, pastor of Berkshire Union Chapel, officiating.
Those attending are invited to meet inside the cemetery gate at 10:45 a.m. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. McDermott, may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to Hospice Care in the Berkshires, in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield.
Mrs. McDermott also leaves her longtime friends, Jerry & Barbara Fowler of Windsor.
