Lucie W. Lyall

Lucie W. Lyall, 93, died Saturday at Kimball Farms, 235 Walker St., where she had resided since 1989.
She was a former resident of 47 Beverly St. in Pittsfield.
Born in Richfield, Utah, on Sept. 30, 1912, daughter of William and Louisa Harrison Wainwright, she was a 1930 graduate of Springville High School.
Mrs. Lyall was a homemaker.
She was a former member of First United Methodist Church of Pittsfield and had volunteered for many of its projects, including the well-known Lucie's Ham Loaf dinners. This past year, she was honored by the PEO Sisterhood, Chapter F, for 68 years as a contributing member. She recently became a member of First United Methodist Church of Lenox.
She volunteered as a voter registrar at the polls, read for the blind and was accomplished at hooking rugs, knitting and crocheting.
She also enjoyed classical music and hosting dinner parties.
Her husband, Wilfred A. Lyall, whom she married May 19, 1934, died Oct. 17, 1987.
She leaves two sons, David W. Lyall of Haines City, Fla., and J. Douglas Lyall of Ballston Spa, N.Y.; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Lucie W. Lyall, who died Jan. 21, 2006, will be conducted tomorrow, Jan. 25, 2006, at 10 at First United Methodist Church in Lenox by the Rev. Eric Dupee, pastor. Cremation will follow. Calling hours will be today from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Center for Hope, 20 Prospect St., Ballston Spa, NY 12020 or to a charity of the donor's choice in care of WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
The family of Mrs. Lyall would like to express its thanks to the staff at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center on Walker Street for the care that was given to Lucie. Among survivors are her grandchildren, Cara Lyall-Hanna, Steven Lyall, Sandra Lyall, Tammy Nielson, Tanya Lyall and Suzanne Lyall; a daughter-in-law, Mary Lyall of Ballston Spa, N.Y., and her son David's companion, Ann Heath of Haines City, Fla.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Mayree and Eva, and by two brothers, William and John.
