Joyce S. Brezniak

Joyce S. Brezniak, 70, of Northborough, formerly of Pittsfield, died yesterday at Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital in Westborough.

Born in Webster on June 9, 1935, daughter of Leo and Helen Smykowski Lonergan, she attended Webster schools.

Mrs. Brezniak was a longtime resident of Pittsfield, where she was involved in Girls Inc. and the Boy's Club.

She enjoyed traveling.

She was the wife of Ralph W. Brezniak.

Besides her husband, she leaves a son, John D. Brezniak of Lincoln, R.I.; three daughters, Karen B. Lindsay and Ellen M. Brezniak, both of Westborough, and Sarah J. Brezniak of Vienna, Va.; two brothers, Paul J. Lonergan of Webster and Gary W. Lonergan of Alexandria, Va.; four sisters, V. June Butcher of North Kingston, R.I.; Lee E. Olmstead of Webster, Mary H. Lonergan and Ann N. Stochaj, both of Dudley, and two grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral Mass for Joyce S. Brezniak, who died Jan. 18, 2006, will be celebrated Saturday, Jan. 21, at 10 a.m. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough.

Burial in St. Luke's Cemetery will be private. Calling hours at RAND-HARPER-PICKERING WESTBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Friday, Jan. 20, from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701, or to The Smile Train, Suite 2201, 245 Fifth Ave., New York, NY 10016.

She also leaves two grandchildren, Erin and Alex Lindsay. She was the sister of the late Rev. Richard V. Lonergan. westboroughfuneralhome .com.
