Thelma H. Smith

Thelma H. Smith, 91, of 792 East St. died Thursday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 23, 1914, daughter of William R. and Augusta Adams Eldridge, she was educated in Hinsdale, Dalton and Pittsfield Schools.
Mrs. Smith was manager of the Medical Service Bureau answering service in Pittsfield for 20 years. She also worked at General Electric Co., Crane & Co. and Elder Services of Berkshire County.
She was a communicant of St. Agnes' Church and enjoyed flower gardening and doll collecting.
Her husband, Neil E. Smith, whom she married in 1932, died in 1954.
She leaves two sons, Bernard A. Smith of Dalton and Edward F. Smith of East Hartford, Conn.; a brother, William Eldridge of Pittsfield; two sisters, Gail Loehr of Pittsfield and Judy Huntoon of Hinsdale; seven grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Thelma H. Smith, who died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006, will be Tuesday at 9:15 from DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Agnes' Church celebrated by the Rev. Christopher A. Malatesta, pastor.
Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Smith may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in care of the funeral home, 890 East Main St., Dalton, MA 01220.
