Janet W. Johnson, 92, of Melbourne Place died Monday at Providence Care Center in Lenox, where she had resided since November 2005.
Born in Schenectady, N.Y., on Aug. 16, 1913, daughter of Edward and Lillian McClellan Weber, she was a 1931 graduate of Schenectady High School.
She received an associate's degree in liberal arts from Green Mountain Junior College in 1932 and her bachelor of science degree from Syracuse University in 1936.
Mrs. Johnson worked at General Electric for a short time during World War II prior to her marriage, after which she was a homemaker raising her family.
She was a member of the former Pittsfield College Club and an active member of South Congregational Church and the May Matoon class.
Her husband, Wallace M. Johnson, whom she married Sept. 24, 1944, died Feb. 3, 2002.
She leaves two daughters, Carol E. George of Sacramento, Calif., and Margaret A. Dion of Glastonbury, Conn.; a sister, Alice Ayer of Durham, N.H.; three grandsons, and three great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for Janet W. Johnson, who died Jan. 9, 2006, will be held Friday, Jan. 13, at 2 p.m. at South Congregational Church in Pittsfield with the Rev. Joel Huntington, pastor, officiating.
There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to South Congregational Church in care of WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
She also leaves three grandsons, Christopher Shoff, Todd Shoff and Brian Shoff, and three great-grandchildren, Jacob Shoff, Jonathon Shoff and Rebecca Shoff.
She was predeceased by a brother, John E. Weber, and two sisters, Beatrice E. Weber and Ruth Angus.
