Barbara A. Soule, 72, of 46 Merriam St. died Friday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 10, 1933, daughter of Francis and Laura Fiehrer Duggan, she was a 1951 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
She also graduated from the former Pittsfield Secretarial School.
She was employed for 25 years as the regional secretary for the Massachusetts Teachers Association, retiring in 1995. Previously, she worked at Berkshire Life Insurance, the office of Dr. Ira Colby, and Gilbain Construction Co. She was part-owner of the Valley Park Lanes in North Adams since 1984.
She was a communicant of St. Mark's Church and a member of Skyline Country Club, where she helped organize the annual John Frasier Memorial Golf Tournament.
She was a member of many area pitch leagues and also enjoyed bowling.
She and her husband, Donald Soule, would have celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary April 21. They were married at St. Mark's Church in 1954.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, David Soule of North Adams, and a daughter, Deborah Smith of Cape Canaveral, Fla.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Barbara A. Soule, who died Friday, Jan. 6, 2006, will be Tuesday at 10:15 from DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 at St. Mark's Church, celebrated by the Rev. William Eckert.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the John Frasier Memorial Golf Tournament, in care of the funeral home.
She also leaves a son-in-law, Jerry Smith; a daughter-in-law, Linda Pulilli; and her cousins, Judy Fiehrer and Diane French.
