Charles John "Jack" Quinlan, 57, of 30193 Destiny Drive, Murrieta, Calif., died Monday at Scripps Hospital in Encinitas, Calif.
Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 14, 1948, son of the late John F. and Ruth Dixon Quinlan, he was raised by his stepmother, the late Constance Zarcone Serenano Quinlan.
He was a 1966 graduate of St. Joseph's High School and a graduate of Berkshire Community College.
He moved to California in 1998.
He served in the National Guard.
A physical therapist, Mr. Quinlan was employed by Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla. Before that, he worked at General Electric Co. for 15 years and at Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington.
A golfer, he was a member of Vineyard Men's Club.
He and his wife, the former Angelita Canapate, were married for five years.
Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Kimberly Venisse of Escondido, Calif., and Kelly Darnell of Aurora, Colo.; a sister, Gloria R. Whitmire of Pittsfield; two step-brothers, Frank Serenano and Nash Serenano, and three grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Funeral Mass for Charles John "Jack" Quinlan, who died Monday, Jan. 2, 2006, will be celebrated today at 12:30 at Resurrection Catholic Church, 1445 Conway Drive, Escondido, Calif.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church's Building Fund, c/o McLEOD MORTUARY CHAPEL, 1919 E. Valley Parkway, Escondido, CA 92027.
He also leaves two sons-in-law, Paul Venisse and Anthony Darnell, and a brother-in-law, William Whitmire.
