Charlotte R. Gardner

Charlotte R. Gardner, 77, of 39 Gale Ave. died Friday at Hillcrest Commons, where she had resided since April 2005.

Born in Canaan, Conn., on March 26, 1928, daughter of Ellen Drumm VandeBogart and the late Roy VandeBogart, she was a 1947 graduate of Millerton (N.Y.) High School.

Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Gardner also did home care for the elderly.

She was a member of First Baptist Church and of its Ruth Danford Women's Group.

She enjoyed reading, playing cards and games.

She and her husband, Emerson R. Gardner, celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary July 2.

Besides her husband and mother, of Lenox, she leaves four sons, Marcus R. Gardner of Sunnyvale, Calif., Robert R. Gardner of Florence, Paul K. Gardner of Palo Alto, Calif., and Jeffrey L. Gardner of Pittsfield; a daughter, Karen A. Bolognia of Lanesborough, and five grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Charlotte R. Gardner, who died Friday, Jan. 6, 2006, will be conducted Thursday at 11 at First Baptist Church by the Rev. Robert Rennie, pastor.

Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME. She also leaves her grandchildren, Michael, Steven and Angela Bolognia, Lillian Albert Gardner and Grace Albert Gardner; a son-in-law, David Bolognia, and a daughter-in-law, Mary Albert Gardner.

She was predeceased by her brother, Kenneth VandeBogart. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to First Baptist Church for children's programs, in care of the funeral home, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
