Eloise Maloney

Eloise Maloney, 94, of Lenox, formerly of Charlestown, Scituate and Cohasset, died Monday at the Providence Care Center in Lenox.
Born Dec. 10, 1911, in Charlestown, daughter of James Peter and Mary Fitzgerald Maloney, she graduated from Perry Normal School in Boston in 1933 and went on to receive her bachelor of arts in Social Work at the University of Rhode Island.
She lived in Charlestown until 1960, when she moved to Scituate.
She moved to Sunrise Assisted Living in Cohasset in 2000 and resided there until moving to Providence Care Center in July 2004.
Miss Maloney worked with children born with cerebral palsy in Wellesley and Boston; she retired as a teacher of special education in the Norwell school system in the 1970s.
She was an active parishioner of St. Mary of the Nativity Church in Scituate for over 40 years.
She leaves a niece, Jane Stevens of Lanesborough; a nephew, James Maloney of South Portland, Maine; three grandnieces; a grandnephew; four great-grandnieces, and two great-grandnephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2006, at noon in St. Mary's Church, Scituate. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Providence Care Center of Lenox (memo to employee's fund), 320 Pittsfield Road, Lenox, MA 01240.
She also leaves her nephew-in-law, William Stevens; her niece-in-law, Paulette Maloney, and a close friend, Gertrude Reynolds of Scituate.
She is predeceased by her brother, James Charles Maloney. Arrangements made by RICHARDSON-GAFFEY FUNERAL HOME, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate, MA 02066.
