Peter Joseph "PJ" DiNicola, 25, of 34 Weston Ave. died Saturday at home.
Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 23, 1980, son of Peter J. and Karen Vittone DiNicola, he was a member of the Bureau for Exceptional Children and Adults in Holyoke.
Besides his parents, he leaves his foster parents, Michael and Janice Butler Mangano, with whom he resided in Dalton; a sister, Kirsten M. DiNicola of Burlington, Vt.; his maternal grandmother, Jane Mezzack Vittone of Pittsfield, and his paternal grandparents, Armando and Julia Colli DiNicola of Pittsfield.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Peter Joseph "PJ" DiNicola, who died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, will be Thursday at 8 a.m. from DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at St. Joseph's Church celebrated by the Rev. Michael Shershanovich, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be tomorrow from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Bureau for Exceptional Children and Adults in care of the funeral home, 890 East Main St., Dalton, MA 01226.
Besides his loving parents and foster parents, Peter is lovingly survived by his foster family, Todd, Matt and Amy Mangano; his aunts, Marcia Blair and Diane Mele; his uncle, Michael DiNicola, and his enduring nurses, Anne Christopolis, Karen Sondrini, Mary Martinelli, Bernice Roy and Kathleen Coombs.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Richard E. Vittone, in 2003.
