Mary Joan Matuszak Czubryt

Mary Joan Matuszak Czubryt, 70, formerly of Adams, died Tuesday evening at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Adams on May 25, 1935, daughter of the late Andrzej and Ursula Koscielniak Matuszak, she attended St. Stanislaus Elementary School and graduated from the former Adams High School in 1953.

Mrs. Czubryt had worked at Air-Tite Holders Co. in North Adams for the past 6 1/2 years. She previously had worked at GE in Pittsfield as a secretary from 1956 until 1970. She also worked at the former Waverly Fabrics in Adams, X-Tyal Corp. in North Adams, Sears-Roebuck Co. in Pittsfield, and at the Adams Registry of Deeds.

She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, and was a former member of the St. Stanislaus' School PTG and a volunteer for the annual Catholic Charities drives.

She also attended the Reigning Love Church in Pittsfield.

She enjoyed sewing and crafts.

Her husband, former Adams town official Thaddeus J. Czubryt, whom she married on October 6, 1957, died on December 27, 1968.

She is survived by a son, Robert Alan Czubryt of Pittsfield; two brothers, Andrew Matuszak of North Adams and Paul Matuszak of Adams; a sister, Theresa Yarter of Williamstown; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mary Joan Matuszak Czubryt, who died Dec. 28, 2005, will be held on Saturday at 11:15 from AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at noon in St. Stanislaus' Church.

Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus' Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 4 to 8 at the funeral home.
