The Rev. Charles V. Hayes

The Rev. Charles V. Hayes, 88, of Holy Name Friary nursing home in Ringwood, N.J., a member of the Franciscan Order of Friars Minor, died there Thursday.
He lived on Charles Street before entering .
He was born in Great Barrington on Oct. 23, 1917, son of William and Helen Knight Hayes and graduated from St. Joseph's High School and from St. Bonaventure University.
Father Hayes was received into the Franciscan order on Aug. 12, 1941. He was ordained to the priesthood in Washington, D.C., on June 9, 1946, and celebrated his first solemn high Mass at St. Charles' Church a week later.
He taught at Siena College in Loudonville, N.Y., for 17 years.
He leaves a sister, Elizabeth Tetreault of Putnam, Conn.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The Funeral Mass for the Rev. Charles V. Hayes, OFM, who died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005, will be Wednesday at 10:30 at St. Anthony's Church in Butler, N.J.
Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Butler. A Wake Service will be held Monday at 4:30 at Holy Name Friary, Ringwood. The Viewing will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 at St. Anthony's Church, followed by a Wake Service at 7:30. D'AGOSTINO FUNERAL HOME, Wanaque, N.J., is in charge of arrangements.
