Charles Walter Bonin

Charles Walter Bonin, 78, of 12 Egremont Ave. died Friday at his winter home in Arroyo Grande, Calif.
Born in Pittsfield on Feb. 10, 1927, son of J. Leon and Yvonne Dube Bonin, he was a 1945 graduate of St. Joseph's Central High School.
He also graduated from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.
He was an Army veteran who served in World War II.
Mr. Boning was employed by GE for 40 years, retiring in 1987 as Manager of Programmers, Information Systems.
He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister.
He was a member of GE's Quarter Century and Pensioners clubs, Wahconah Country Club in Dalton and the Berkshire Senior Golf Association. He was also a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.
He and his first wife, the former Mary Dolorita Donovan, were married April 3, 1948. She died Dec. 20, 1974.
He and his second wife, the former Josephine Tiller Ramsay, were married June 19, 1976. She died May 13, 2003.
He leaves a daughter, Rosemary Bonin Denton of Sheridan, Wyo.; a stepdaughter, Ellen Ramsay Berends of Oak Hills, Calif.; two stepsons, Paul Ramsay of Templeton, Calif., and Carl Ramsay of New York City, 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Charles W. Bonin, who died Friday, Dec. 16, 2005, will be tomorrow at 11:15 at DERY FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at noon at Sacred Heart Church, celebrated by the Rev. James K. Joyce, pastor. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Calling hours are this evening from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Daughters of the Holy Spirit Development Office, 72 Church St., Putnam, CT 06260, or in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
Mr. Bonin is also lovingly survived by three daughters-in-law, Shandi, Debra and June Ramsay, and by three sons-in-law, Bill Denton, Roger Berends and Leonard Paolillo. He was predeceased by two sisters, Betty LaChance and Sr. Helen Bonin, DHS; a brother, Gerard Bonin, and two stepchildren, Bonnie Ramsay Paolillo, in 1977, and Frank Ramsay, in 2004.
