Bernard F. Brophy

Bernard F. Brophy, 80, of 282 Elm St., died yesterdayat Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on June 5, 1925, son of Matthew and Anna Roy Brophy, he attended Dalton schools.
An Army veteran of World War II, he served in the Pacific Theater with the 361st Ordnance Maintenance Company, Antiaircraft.
Mr. Brophy was employed by J.H. Maxymillian Inc. for eight years, retiring in 1987. Prior to that he was employed by the former Farrell & Gregory Steel Erectors for 32 years.
He was a communicant of Mt. Carmel Church, a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers AFL-CIO local 98, and VFW Dalton Post 9566.
He and his wife, the former Consetta A. Mole, were married on June 2, 1947.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sisters, Maureen Londergan and Claire Londergan, both of Pittsfield.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral service for Bernard F. Brophy, who died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005, will be Tuesday at 9 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA Funeral Home, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at Mt. Carmel Church, celebrated by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, C.S.S., pastor.
Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mt. Carmel Church in care of the funeral home, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
He also leaves nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Matthew Brophy and Roy Brophy.
